MANCHESTER UNITED
BARCLAYS PREMIERSHIP &
UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WINNERS 07/08 TEAM PACK
The 2007/08 season saw Manchester United complete a double, as they won the Barclays Premiership and also the UEFA Champions League.

This would be Manchester United's 10 Premiership title and their 17th league title overall, meaning they were now just 1 away from equalling the total of Liverpool and 2 away from knocking them off their perch.
United ended the season top on 87 points, a mere 2 points above Chelsea in second place, with United ending up top scorers with 80 goals and also conceding the fewest, with just 22 ending up in the United net that season.

The 2008 UEFA Champions League Final took place at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Russia, on the 21st of May, with the game being an all English affair as Manchester United took on Chelsea.
A neat interchange down the right flank between Wes Brown and Paul Scholes, saw Brown whip in a ball which Cristiano Ronald converted with a trademark header, leaving Petr Cech rooted to the spot, United had the lead after 26 minutes.
With half time approaching Essien drove forward and thundered a hopeful shot from 35 yards towards goal which deflected of the back of Rio Ferdinand into the path of Frank Lampard who Cooley slotted the ball past Edwin Van Der Sar, to mean the sides went into the break level at 1-1
The game went into extra time, with Didier Drogba seeing a Red card on the 116th minute, however Chelsea held on and sent the game to a penalty shoot out. After 2 successful conversions each, Ronaldo stepped up to the spot, a stuttered run up didn't fool Cech, who saved his penalty, giving Chelsea the advantage.
The shootout was 4-4 with Chelsea club captain John Terry making the walk towards the spot, knowing if he scored he would win the cup, the first European trophy in the clubs history, however Terry slipped in the Moscow rain and the ball smashed off the post, meaning we now faced sudden death penalties. Anderson scored, as did Kalou, Giggs converted for United meaning Anelka had to score to keep the shoot out going , however Van Der Sar went the correct way and saved his penalty, giving United the win!
The Manchester United Barclays Premiership & UEFA Champions League Winners 07/08 Celebration Pack is a 16 figure pack, containing the 11 players who started the final, all 3 used substitutes in the final, along with squad man Mikael Silvestre and of course, manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The figures were in the kit worn for the UEFA Champions League Final, which sees them wearing white socks. Edwin Van Der Sar is the same sculpt as seen in Series 32, with Patrice Evra getting his 4th ProStars release, along with Nemanja Vidic who first appeared in Series 36.
Mikael Silvestre is the same sculpt as seen in the Manchester United 2005/06 Squad Pack, with Rio Ferdinand and Wes Brown getting new sculpts. The Ferdinand was also released as a single club blister in the Manchester United 2008 set, while this all new sculpt of Wes Brown would not be released again by Corinthian.

With the pack being completed by manager Sir Alex Ferguson who is in a Dark Grey suit and a red and white striped tie, the club blister release saw him in a light grey suit and red tie.
Corinthian released the Manchester United Barclays Premiership & UEFA Champions League Winners 07/08 Celebration Pack in July 2008, producing just 2,008 pieces and having an initial retail price of only £50, this is a pack which has vastly appreciated in value since it's release, another team pack which is in high demand but seldom seen for sale.
