PREMIERSHIP HEROES
TEAM PACK

Corinthian were always looking to give their loyal collectors value for money, which saw them release the Premiership Heroes Pack. The pack was also called Super Strikers Series 1, giving an indication that this was a new range Corinthian would be pursuing.

The Premiership Heroes pack contains 12 figures, without collector cards, but did come with a 12 figure display stand, complete with a newly designed backing card. The pack was released in November 2001 and priced at just £25, which represented excellent value for collectors.

 

 

Included in the pack are 2 from Series 11, those being Sylvain Wiltord for Arsenal and Michael Owen for Liverpool, while Mark Viduka for Leeds United featured in Series 12 and Henrik Larsson for Celtic in Series 13.

 

 

A total of 6 of the figures were also released in Series 14, which are Gianfranco Zola for Chelsea, Claudio Caniggia for Rangers, Marcus Stewart for Ipswich Town, Ruud Van Nistelrooy for Manchester United, Teddy Sheringham for Tottenham Hotspur and Paolo Di Canio for West Ham United.

 

 

The final 2 in the pack were exclusive and not released in any other format, which are Alen Boksic for Middlesbrough and David Ginola for Aston Villa, sadly no collector cards were made to accompany these figures.

 

 

Commercially the pack did not do as well as Corinthian would have hoped, it was an attractive price but it contained largely previously released product, so only appealed to the long term collector needing the 2 exclusives and perhaps provided further proof that a cross team multi pack doesn't work, as it was not something they released again.
