ARSENAL 4 PACK A
Corinthian was extremely popular in Japan during the early 2000's, with the company often producing product specifically at the behest of the Japanese distributors. While some of this product was only available to purchase in Japan, Corinthian always made every effort to try and ensure collector's in the UK had access to these exclusive figure releases.
2002 saw Corinthian produce 2 special Arsenal 4 packs, for release in Japan, which included 2 fresh sculpts! This was the very first ProStars release of Junichi Inamoto, a truly superb sculpt and it would be retired after this release and never used again, with the home version appearing in pack A.
Robert Pires was re sculpted with his new version being absolutely incredible and really captured the French play maker perfectly. Completing the pack is manager Arsene Wenger and Dennis Bergkamp, who is in the 3rd kit worn for the 2001/02 season.
Although made for the Japanese market, Corinthian were able to secure 518 of this pack, which they made available to collector's at the Corinthian Convention, which took place at Villa Park on the 25th May 2002, with the packs selling out in no time at all.
The 4 pack came with 4 figures, 4 collector cards and a Highbury display stand, with the pack being priced at £10.
Corinthian did not disclose exactly how many packs they released, only stating 518 were made available in the UK. Given how this was a Japan special release, it has always perplexed me there were no Platiunm Packs to accompany this release.
