Team Packs were an ever present in the Corinthian ProStars range, always proving incredibly popular and are amongst the most collected items in the entire Corinthian collection.
The Team Pack was often used to commemorate a winning side, whether that was winning a league title or indeed a World Cup, with the packs having a broader appeal than just to Corinthian collector's.
Platinum Packs were issued for the vast majority of these Team Packs, with the numbers produced being amongst the lowest in the entire Corinthian collection. Each Team Pack contained a randomly packed Platinum Pack, placed behind the figure tray.
Production volume was determined by the amount of team packs made, divided by the amount of players in the pack, so if Corinthian made 2006 pieces of a team pack which had 12 players included, then there would be 167 of each Platinum Pack made.
This distribution method goes a long way to explaining why the team pack platinum packs are so incredibly rare, is that the vast majority never ended up in the hands of collectors who would have kept them sealed and treated them as a collectible, it is more likely they ended up with younger collectors who would have just opened the platinum pack, which is why so few are seen for sale and this scarcity and demand is reflected in the prices they achieve on the secondary market.
Corinthian released a total of 31 team packs as part of the ProStars range, all of which are detailed in depth here.
