CONVENTION 2000 CELTIC SPECIALS

Corinthian held an annual convention which brought together collectors from all over the world. The Convention was the highlight of the collecting calendar and something which all collectors looked forward too, even if they were unable to attend the event personally.

Released at the 2000 Convention were 2 previously unreleased figures, which were Dmitri Kharine and Tommy Boyd for Celtic, with the figures being released in clear sachet coming with collector card, with both figures completely selling out at the convention.

My personal feelings are that they were initially planned for the Club Gold Club Edition 2000 range but were cancelled, I then feel they were meant to be in ProStars Series 6 along with Blinker and Stubbs but given all the problems around series 6 they again were cancelled.

 

 

It is only my assumption but I have always felt Corinthian were maybe contacted by the factory in China and made aware they had stock of Kharine and Boyd made with collector cards, so instead of them being wasted Corinthian had them packed into a clear sachet and released them at the 2000 Convention.
