SERIES 34

ProStars Series 34 was Corinthian's figure regular release of the 2006/07 season, with 12 new figures to be collected, including 3 first time sculpts.

The star of the series is of course Cristiano Ronaldo, this is an all new sculpt and a truly tremendous one at that, with CR7 appearing in a regular ProStars series for Man U for the first time since his debut appearance in Series 23. Corinthian made just 2,830 Ronaldo blisters which given the popularity of the player would be no where enough to meet the demand, and as a result this blister has become highly collectible and incredibly sought after.

 

 

For Arsenal we have the first ProStars release of Theo Walcott, an excellent sculpt and would be used for all future releases of the pacey winger, with there being 2,827 blisters. Also released for Arsenal is Cesc Fabregas, the same sculpt as first seen back in Series 29 Stars Of The Season 2004/5, with Corinthian making 2,537 blisters.

 

 

We have a trio of figures released for 2005/06 Premier League winners Chelsea, with their 2 high profile Summer signings of Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack being released, both being fresh sculpts and they were the highest volume blisters in the series with 4,269 made of each. Also released for Chelsea is Arjen Robben which is the same sculpt as seen in Series 26 Midfield Maestros, with there being 3,369 blisters made.

 

 

Tottenham Hotspur have 2 new sculpts released, we see the first and indeed only ProStars figure of Aaron Lennon and a totally new sculpt of Robbie Keane, Volume wise there are 1,989 blisters of Lennon and 1,869 of Keane, which was the lowest of any figure in this series.

 

 

Nigel Reo Coker for West Ham United gets his only ProStars figure released, with there being just 1,929 blisters made, and the English Premier League line up is completed by another release of Michael Owen for Newcastle United, with 2,110 blisters made, another figure i begrudgingly had to buy.

 

 

The final 2 figures are from Italy's Serie A, as we get an all new sculpt of Francesco Totti for Roma, this is a tremendous sculpt of Totti and would be used for all subsequent releases, with there being 2,293 blisters. Completing the series is David Trezeguet in Juventus home kit, with this repaint release having 1,962 blisters made.

 

 

In total Corinthian made 32,253 blisters for ProStars Series 34 , which was higher than Series 33 but slightly lower than Series 32. The average blister production for this series was 2,687.

 

 

Corinthian produced 2 special redemption figures for ProStars Series 34, which are Andriy Shevchenko for Chelsea and Cristiano Ronaldo for Manchester United, both in their respective club away kits. Collectors were able to directly purchase the redemption figures, which were priced at £5 and came in clear sachet with a non numbered collector card. As you can imagine, the Ronaldo redemption figure is rare and very seldom seen for sale still sealed in sachet.

 

 

Series 34 was released on the 30th October 2006, with blisters priced at £3 each and Corinthian also made the series available in a case assortment, which contained all 12 blisters and 1 platinum pack, with the case assortment costing £36.

 

 

Along with the regular blister packs, Corinthian produced something special called the Platinum Pack, these were produced in much lower numbers and not available for direct sale, they were given away free for money spent with Corinthian Direct. The figures are identical to those in the standard blister but are on a Silver base and assigned a PP (Platinum Pack) collector code, which was the same code as the PRO version, with the figure then placed on a specially designed Platinum Pack blister card, coming with an individually numbered collector card with just 360 of each being produced.
