SERIE A 2000/01

Corinthian experienced great success with the 1999/00 team packs, however the feedback from collectors was that there was a little too much product released at once and from too few teams, so Corinthian addressed this by releasing 10 different 4 player packs, with their release being just in time for Christmas.

The Serei a 4 pack features 4 figures in their respective club;s 2000/01 home kit, the star of the pack has to be Edgar Davids wearing his trademark glasses, such an iconic look and i recall there being a lot of buzz and hype around this figure upon it's initial release and to this day it still remains one of my all time favourite figures.​

Paulo Sousa is in Inter Milan home kit, the away kit version was a redemption figure in Series 9, however only 500 of those were made. Paolo Maldini is of course featured for his beloved AC Milan, the sculpt the same as previous Maldini releases, and completing the pack is Juan Sebastian Veron, who we first saw in Series 5.

Corinthian also produced Platinum Packs for this release, with only 90 of each being made, the vast majority of which went to Beatties stores, so finding them now in good condition can be a difficult task, as they are more often than not yellowed from sun damage. As only 90 of each were made they are highly sought after amongst dedicated Platinum Pack collectors, and seldom appear for sale.

 

 

Each 4 pack came with 4 figures, which were a mixture of home and away kits, the first time Corinthian had done this, 4 collector cards and a San Siro display stand, with the pack being priced at £10.

Corinthian produced 6,997 Serie A 4 packs, as they anticipated high demand from collectors in the Far East, especially in Japan where any Serie A product sold exceptionally well. This pack has always remained incredibly popular and is my personal favourite ProStars 4 pack.
