DRAGAN STOJKOVIC SPECIAL EDITON

Corinthian were asked by their Japanese distributor 'New Wave' to produce some special edition figures that would only be sold in Japan, with the figures selected being released in the later part of 2001.

Drajan Stojkovic was first released as a Japan Special in the kit of J-League side Nagoya Grampus Eight, that same sculpt is released here with Stojkovic being in the home and away kit of Serbia & Montenegro, technically he played for Yugoslavia, as the country was called at that point in history, however whether by intent or mistake, his collector card has the national side printed as Serbia Montenegro. Corinthian produced 5,000 home kit blisters but only 2,000 away kit blisters.

Corinthian always did all they could to try and ensure and product released outside the UK would also be made available to UK collectors, Corinthian did manage to acquire 500 blisters of Dragan Stojkovic in Serbia Montenegro home and away kit.

They were not available for direct purchase though, you received one for free by spending over £50 with Corinthian direct, with 1 figure being made available in the promotion each month. They were made available as follows:

1st May 2005 - Mboma Cameroon Home

1st June 2005 - Stojkovic Serbia Montenegro Home

1st July 2005 - Mboma Cameroon Away

1st August 2005 - Stojkovic Serbia Montenegro Away

The figure was released in Blister Pack in Japan from April 2005, each one came with an individually numbered collector card.
